These are all the pages that I use inside
each Reader's Notebook. I use a spiral-bound notebook and then glue each
of the following pages into the notebook. I leave a HUGE section for the
letters back and forth and then at the very back of the notebook I put
the Book Talk and Discussion sheets.

This is what the cover of
the journals looks like. I use five different colored notebooks (one
for each day of the week). It ends up being about five journals due
each day.

This is an example of the
inside of the journal. The student writes a letter and then the
teacher writes back with feedback, questions and/or praise. The
purpose of the journals is to respond to reading. |

Here's another example of
letters between the student and the teacher. I keep mine private
(between me and the student) so the students feel comfortable
writing whatever they like. Parents do not see the journals and they
are not allowed to take them home. |

On my board I post which
journal is due each day (and the following day) and then which
students have not turned them in for the week. |
Here are the pages that I include in
the notebook:

If you'd like me to send you
the MS Word version of these pages so you can change them as needed,
please just send me an email!
